Week 3 Action Research Draft

My action research questions will be:

Is all of the time and resource that we are spending making a difference? Are our African American and economically disadvantage students showing gains? What else can we do to close the achievement gap for our African American students?

  1. Patricia,
I like that are collecting many forms of data throughout your action research plan. I think feedback from students on your last step is a great way to dig deep and understand some of the issues positive and negative, that are occurring. Best of luck in your research!

  2. I too work in a district that deals with economic diversity. I will be very interested in your research and i hope I can help provide some insight.

  3. I love the use of the student survey. What better way to bridge the gap than to take into account their perspective. I have worked in a Title 1 district for the last five years and it seems each fall we take apart the data and have large gaps for various sub groups. I think your research will provide good insight to what resources are actually making an impact.

  4. It's great that you are using data and surveys. You could even add walkthroughs or classroom observations to see how effectively your programs are being implemented. What type of programs your you considering? Our district is over 50% eco.dis. and around 30% African American I look forward to seeing how your research progresses.
